Convicted Murderer Triggers Massive Search After Breaking Out Of Tennessee Prison

2 min read

Law enforcement agencies across Tennessee are currently engaged in an intense search for Jacob Allen Morley, a twenty eight year old convicted murderer who managed to break out of the Northwest Correctional Complex in Tiptonville. Officials believe Morley scaled the perimeter fence and fled the facility wearing his prison uniform shortly before eleven thirty Sunday night. By early Monday morning, investigators allege that Morley stole a white Ford F-350 flatbed truck within the small town, which sits roughly one hundred miles north of Memphis and close to the Missouri border.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has since added Morley to its most wanted list, urging local residents to scour their doorbell cameras and trail cams for any sign of the fugitive or the stolen vehicle. Security footage already captured a man in a beanie entering the driver’s side of the truck before speeding away into the night. Authorities describe Morley as five feet eleven inches tall and weighing two hundred forty pounds, offering a reward of up to two thousand five hundred dollars for any tips leading to his arrest.

This manhunt comes after Morley was handed a life sentence in February twenty twenty five for the brutal killing of his former coworker, Cody Birchfield. Court records reveal a grim crime scene where Birchfield was shot in the back of the head in twenty twenty two, with his body later discovered hidden inside a large metal box beneath Morley’s home. In addition to murder, Morley was convicted of abusing a corpse and stealing tools from his victim during an aggravated burglary. Despite claims of mental health struggles and self defense during his trial, he remains one of the region’s most dangerous fugitives on the run.
